UFO Rug is a luxury handmade Italian rug created for the UFO Rocking Chair. Conceived as a dedicated textile surface, it defines a precise lounge area around one of Mavimatt’s most iconic pieces, adding proportion, texture and identity to the interior.
UFO Rug is created to interact with the circular geometry and dynamic movement of the UFO Rocking Chair. Its design follows the visual language of the chair, creating a balanced relationship between the sculptural object and the handmade rug beneath it.
Rather than being a standard rug placed under a piece of furniture, UFO Rug is conceived as part of the same visual composition. It frames the chair, reinforces its iconic silhouette and gives the surrounding area a stronger sense of identity, proportion and presence.
The shape, graphic design and the texture of UFO Rug are defined by Mavimatt designers. These elements are part of the identity of the piece and are created to interact specifically with the UFO Rocking Chair.
For this reason, UFO Rug is not conceived as a fully modifiable design. Its circular shape and graphic composition remain part of the original Mavimatt concept, while selected details can be adapted to suit the client’s interior project.
UFO Rug preserves its original circular shape and graphic design across all versions. Since the UFO Rocking Chair is available in three different sizes — UFO Large, UFO Medium and UFO Mini — the rug is developed in three proportional diameters, each designed to match the corresponding chair size.
