Mavimatt in Istanbul: A New Partnership at Skyland HOM

Mavimatt has expanded its international presence through a new commercial partnership in Turkey. A local partner specializing in high-end interiors purchased different pieces for a newly established showroom in Istanbul: the Lava Bookcase, the Magma Console, and the Mini UFO Armchair. Handcrafted in Italy with distinctive chrome finishes, the objects were selected for a prominent display near the showroom’s windows at the Skyland HOM Design Center, within the Skyland Istanbul complex.

A New Commercial Partnership in Turkey

The project began with a Turkish partner interested in introducing contemporary furniture with distinctive sculptural forms to its clientele. After discovering the Mavimatt collection, the partner chose to purchase a selection of pieces for a new showroom in Istanbul.

This was not simply a temporary exhibition or a short-term promotional appearance: the pieces were purchased by the local commercial partner for display in its own space. For Mavimatt, the collaboration creates a concrete opportunity to reach interior design professionals, private clients, and collectors of distinctive furniture in the Turkish market, while maintaining the brand’s original approach to design and craftsmanship.

Lava Bookcase, Magma Console, and Mini UFO Armchair

The selection brings together three objects with different functions but a shared visual language. The Lava Bookcase combines flowing surfaces and organic openings, giving an architectural presence to a structure designed to hold books and display objects. The Magma Console evokes the movement of fluid material through sculpted volumes and irregular curves.

The Mini UFO Armchair completes the arrangement with its circular, enveloping silhouette. Despite its compact dimensions, it retains the immediately recognizable character of the UFO collection, balancing sculptural impact with the function of a seat. Presented together, these creations show how Mavimatt approaches different furniture categories through a consistent exploration of form, material, and proportion.

Chrome Finishes and Italian Craftsmanship

For the Istanbul showroom, the partner selected special chrome finishes intended to emphasize the surfaces and contours of the three designs. Their reflective qualities interact with the surrounding light, drawing attention to the curves, recesses, and sculptural volumes that make each object recognizable.

Following confirmation of the order, Mavimatt began handcrafting the pieces in Italy according to the agreed configurations. Once production was completed, delivery to Turkey was arranged. From material choices to finishing and international transport, the project brought together Italian artisanal production and the requirements of a new commercial display abroad.

A Showroom at Skyland Istanbul

The partner’s new showroom is located at the Skyland HOM Design Center, a destination for furniture and interior design within the Skyland Istanbul complex. The partner placed the Mavimatt creations near the showroom’s windows, giving them a highly visible position for people moving through the surrounding public areas.

Mavimatt’s presence in Istanbul does not mean the brand has opened a directly operated store. It reflects the decision of a local commercial partner to purchase and showcase its creations.
