DLMVT

A limited-edition sculptural tribute to professional cycling, developed around a bespoke racing bicycle.

The Artwork

DLMVT was created in 2022 through the collaboration between Mavimatt and Italian cycling champion Danilo Di Luca, bringing together sculptural design and the technical culture of professional cycling.

The work combines a stylised carbon-fibre human figure with a bespoke racing bicycle, treating the two elements as a single sculptural composition.

Developed in dialogue with Di Luca Bike, DLMVT explores the relationship between body, machine and movement, translating the world of competitive cycling into a collectible design object.

Produced as a limited edition of 20, each piece is individually finished and signed by Danilo Di Luca and Mavimatt.

From Competition to Sculpture

DLMVT translates the physical language of professional cycling into a sculptural form.

The human figure is captured supporting the bicycle in a moment that recalls the end of a race — a posture shaped by effort, tension and endurance, but also by the sense of achievement that follows competition.

Rather than portraying a specific athlete realistically, the figure is deliberately stylised, allowing the gesture itself to become the central expression of the work.

Built Around Performance

The project brings together Mavimatt’s sculptural approach with the experience of Danilo Di Luca, whose career has been defined by professional cycling at the highest level.

After his racing career, Di Luca continued his relationship with the sport through Di Luca Bike, focusing on high-performance bicycles, carbon-fibre development and custom racing projects.

This shared interest in carbon fibre, performance and bespoke creation became the foundation for DLMVT, connecting the technical world of cycling with Mavimatt’s artistic and material research.

A Limited Edition of Twenty

DLMVT was conceived as a limited edition of 20 pieces, developed from the same sculptural concept while allowing each example to maintain its own visual identity.

The carbon-fibre figure and racing bicycle are treated as a single composition, with custom finishes extending across both elements and visually connecting body, machine and movement.

Individually finished and signed by Danilo Di Luca and Mavimatt, each DLMVT becomes a collectible work positioned between contemporary sculpture, Italian design and the culture of professional cycling.
