Fagiolo takes its name and design direction from the simple, recognizable outline of a bean.
That reference is translated into a lounge chair defined by a continuous, rounded body with no rigid interruptions.
The form is intentionally pure and direct, giving Fagiolo a distinctive identity while inviting a relaxed seating experience.
The metal band that embraces the upholstered volume introduces a second visual layer, framing the seat and reinforcing the relationship between the soft central body and the more defined outer structure.
A Hand-Upholstered Body Framed by a Shaped Metal Band
Fagiolo is handcrafted in Italy, one piece at a time, through a process involving upholsterers, metalworkers, and finishing specialists.
Its central body is developed as a single upholstered volume, combining layers of foam with varying densities and memory foam to create a soft, supportive seat.
The volume is then upholstered by hand in the selected material, with the seams carefully positioned to follow the curves of the form and emphasize the continuity of the design.
A shaped metal band wraps around the upholstered body, individually crafted by a Mavimatt metalworker.
Each metal element is individually shaped and precisely fitted to follow the contours of the upholstered body.
Each Fagiolo is completed with a Mavimatt identification label, hand-sewn along one of the upholstery seams as a discreet mark of authenticity.
Upholstery Options and Tailored Metal Finishes
Fagiolo can be customized through the combination of its upholstered body and the finish of its surrounding metal band.
The upholstered body is available in leather, velvet, or fabric, with a selection of colors to suit the client’s preferences.
The metal band can be finished in a wide range of RAL colors, using a specialized liquid-coating process with matte or gloss finishes.
The Chrome Edition offers reflective metallic finishes for the band. Through Mavimatt Tailor Made, bespoke textures, surface effects, and custom finishes can be developed for specific interiors or projects.
Through these combinations, Fagiolo can take on a more understated or more expressive character while preserving the soft, essential form at the heart of its design.
