Chromasis is a designer armchair conceived around the relationship between an outer shell and the seat it contains.
Its continuous composite body wraps around the upholstered interior, creating a compact, embracing form in which structure and comfort are designed as a single composition.

A Designer Armchair Inspired by the Protective Nature of a Shell
The design of Chromasis began with the study of shells and their ability to protect and contain what lies within.
This principle was translated into an enveloping outer body that curves around the seat, defining both the silhouette and the sense of enclosure of the armchair.
The opening of the shell reveals the softer upholstered element inside, creating a deliberate contrast between the continuous exterior surface and the comfort of the seat.
Every proportion is developed around this relationship, with the cushioning shaped specifically to follow the curves of the surrounding body rather than existing as an independent element.
A Hand-Finished Composite Shell Built Around Comfort
Chromasis is handcrafted in Italy, one piece at a time, through an artisanal process.
The outer shell is formed from composite materials incorporating carbon fiber and fiberglass, then individually worked and sanded by hand to refine its continuous curves before the finishing process begins.
The seat is developed specifically around the geometry of the shell.
Different layers of foam, memory foam and feather padding are combined to create a soft, supportive volume that follows the surrounding contours, while the final upholstery can be specified in leather, fabric or velvet.
The Carbon Fiber Edition is produced using an autoclave process, with the carbon weave remaining visible beneath a matte or gloss finish.
Each Chromasis is completed with an aluminum identification plaque engraved with the official Mavimatt logo.
Crafted by a specialist jeweler and applied by hand to the shell, the plaque identifies the armchair as an authentic Mavimatt creation.
RAL Colors, Chrome Finishes, Carbon Fiber, and Tailor Made
Chromasis is available in several distinct editions and finishes, offering different interpretations of its sculptural shell.
The RAL Edition is available in a wide selection of RAL colors, with matte or gloss finishes.
The Chrome Edition features highly reflective chrome finishes, including yellow gold, rose gold, and silver, with additional metallic tones available on request.
The Carbon Fiber Edition highlights the technical character of the material, with the carbon weave remaining visible beneath a matte or gloss finish.
Through Mavimatt Tailor Made, individual textures, surface effects, and bespoke finishes can be developed for specific interiors or projects.
The upholstered seat is available in a selection of leather, fabric, and velvet options in a wide range of colors, allowing the shell and upholstery to be customized as a cohesive composition.

Each Mavimatt piece is individually handcrafted in Italy. Subtle variations in surface, tone, texture, form and hand-finished details are inherent to artisanal production and make every piece unique. Every Chromasis is prepared for shipment inside a custom-built wooden crate, made according to its specific shape, dimensions and characteristics. Inside, the piece is carefully protected and secured using dedicated packing solutions designed to limit movement and stress during transportation.
